
INdicio™ R2 Released
The R2 release of INdicio provides extended functionality, and enhancements that include improved conformance to CSW-ebRIM 1.0.1, and improved Full Text Support and Life Cycle Management. INdicio now supports deployment on a PostgreSQL database, and has been certified and tested on Oracle 11g. New client applications have been added, together with the ability to create and modify registry information models.
INscape™ Updated
The latest release of INscape has been extensively refactored to bring the code base up to the latest standards. Numerous improvements have been made, including support for GML 3.2 and for CityGML (including blobs). Regular releases of additional updates are scheduled.

In his latest article — “Capture Features Early in the Food Chain” — Ron Lake discusses the importance of using feature type hierarchies and feature catalogues, and sharing schemas and data dictionaries between data providers and data consumers. These things are necessary in order to start capturing feature data at the source rather than making features from the data after it has been captured.
