Project Manager

We are seeking a senior project manager to oversee development and implementation of a large GIS project in the Middle East. You are a seasoned project manager with 5-10 years of experience managing large scale IT projects ($1M-$2M).

Requirements & Skills

  • Ability to work with multiple suppliers and vendors including System Integrators
  • Ability to manage large complex, cross-functional projects and translate overall requirements into practical project plans.
  • Ability to multi-task, strong scope and time management skills, experience managing disparate teams and experience communicating with all levels of management.
  • Degreed professional with PMP accreditation from Project Management Institute
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills
  • Solid GIS background
  • Expertise in project management methodologies

Database Application Developer

We are looking for a self-starter and ambitious database applications developer. You are fearless when faced with an unfamiliar problem. You are the type of person to take the initiative to learn new technologies. You will be the expert resource for development teams within the company.

Your primary role is a database developer where you will participate as a member of the development team by designing database schemas and implementing PL/SQL and Java stored procedures, triggers, and views within the database environment.

This position will report to the Software Development Manager.

Requirements & Skills

  • 1-3 years experience in application development with one or more RDBMS such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, and ArcSDE
  • Experience in SQL tuning
  • Familiarity with shell scripts in both Windows and Linux environments
  • Familiarity with Java technologies
  • Familiarity with XML technologies (e.g. XML, XSD, XSLT) is a plus
  • Experience with geospatial systems is a plus
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Skills in managing multiple and often conflicting priorities
  • Ability to deliver against technical project plans; strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment
  • Ability to focus on the details while understanding the big picture
  • Strong communication skills and team player; ability to influence peers and superiors

Intermediate Software Engineers

We are seeking a number of intermediate Java developers participate in Java framework and application development. You must be ambitious and highly technical Java developer. You view a knowledge gap as an opportunity and take the initiative to learn new skills. You are fluent in OO development processes and eager to keep up to speed on current Java technologies. Our specific technology domain is the geospatial industry and, therefore, a good knowledge of this area is a definite asset.

Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Must have 2-5 years of proven professional experience in OOP and OOAD using design patterns within a Java environment.
  • Proven professional experience in enterprise-strength distributed applications utilizing UML, XML, Java, and J2EE architecture.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with team members and management.
  • Possessing knowledge of XML technologies, Java API for parsing XML (e.g. DOM and SAX), and Java binding frameworks for XML (e.g. JiBX, Castor) is a major advantage.
  • Conversant with JDBC and ORM tools including Hibernate is an advantage.
  • Conversant in Java technologies including JSP, JTA, EJB, RNI, and JNDI.
  • Experience with spatial databases such as Oracle Spatial or ArcSDE is a plus
  • Experience with SOAP and WDSL a benefit.
  • Some travel and occasional overtime may be required.
