Galdos attends EarthCube Meeting

Ron Lake, CEO of Galdos Systems, attended the EarthCube “Information Technology/Free and Open Source Software and Instrumentation Assembly Workshop”, held in Boulder, Colorado, March 5-7, 2014. The meeting brought together a diverse group of IT professionals from the open source and COTS vendor community in order to get their input on the development of the EarthCube cyber-infrastructure.

EarthCube is an initiative of the U.S. National Science Foundation that is intended to revolutionize the execution of geo-science research in the United States and internationally, by providing a cyber-infrastructure that enables cross domain access to data, tools, and models. EarthCube will incorporate a breadth of earth, atmospheric, and ocean sciences, roughly summarized in the following diagram:

Galdos brings a wealth of experience in open standards and in the development of the Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) to the EarthCube mission.

Galdos participated in the workshop team(s) devoted to creating an Enterprise and Information Viewpoint for EarthCube, and will continue to support this program in the future.
