Galdos Systems gives keynote address at GeoTec 2004

VANCOUVER, BC – April 8, 2004 — Galdos Systems Inc, creator of the Geography Markup Language (GML) the “XML for geospatial,” today announced that Galdos Systems was a major presence at GeoTec 2004 – the key GIS show in North America. In addition to its booth in the vendor showcase, Galdos provided two GML courses, gave a keynote address on the impact of open standards and presented a paper on GML Application Languages.

The Galdos booth showed the power of Galdos’ new Cartalinea (WFS) and FreeStyler (WMS) versions with support for styling from any WFS or even multiple WFS at the same time. While other vendors were showing WMS/WFS handling a few dozen features – Galdos demonstrated WFS/WMS with thousands of features. Connectivity to ESRI WFS connector was also demonstrated.

Two key announcements were made at the show:

  • Cartalinea for Oracle and Cartalinea for ArcSDE/Oracle.
  • Joint development of tools for JPEG 2000/GML with LizardTech
