GML is easy
Geography Markup Language (GML) is the key information technology behind the geo-spatial Internet. The GeoWeb is a global information infrastructure, integrating disparate sources of geographic information using GML as the transfer format, and providing layered application services based on this infrastructure. The geo-spatial Web offers global integration of geographic information while supporting local data development and maintenance.
Galdos plays a key role as a leading contributor to the OpenGeospatial Consortium (OGC), an international organization that develops and promotes geographic standards such as GML and web service specifications. Galdos was the original creator of GML and has continued to aid in the development of all versions of the GML specification.
Using GML, an XML-based language, you can deliver geographic information as distinct features, and then control how they are displayed in a Web browser. Just as XML is helping the Web to clearly separate content from presentation, GML does the same in the world of geography.
