Master Data Management
Galdos has integrated INdicio with multiple back end systems to bring together the data necessary for decision-making in a single Master Data Management view. The key to better decision-making is to have the best quality data available to the right people at the right time. For many businesses and government departments, this can be a challenge because data is kept in many different systems that were each designed for one specific purpose.
Expedia, Inc. licensed INdicio for mastering geographic data, including points of interest, tourist regions, and entertainment districts. The INdicio-based system makes it possible for Expedia geographers to better organize, edit, and present geographic data significantly more quickly. INdicio will also assist with the harmonization of different data models and data instances.
Registries, Catalogues, and Asset Management
Galdos has developed flexible Registries and Catalogues using INdicio. These solutions can be applied in many different ways to solve a variety of different problems relating to indexing and classifying both real-world objects and digital assets.
Galdos created an open standards-based registry of coordinate reference systems (CRS) and units of measure definitions. A public CRS Registry is hosted by the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (OGP), and over 600 agencies world-wide are registered users. The CRS Registry is a good example of using INdicio to manage digital assets.
Many governments and organizations around the globe are recognizing the ability of improved urban planning to combat the issues of rapidly increasing urbanization and deteriorating urban infrastructure. In order to do this, a more holistic view of urban design is required, one that allows information about the city to be used and reused from initial concept design to final operation and maintenance.
Galdos has successfully deployed INdicio to deliver solutions for Intelligent City Models and Spatial Data Infrastructures. These solutions take advantage of 2D and 3D data, imagery, metadata, and other content to deliver functionality ranging from shared map updates to interactive 3D displays that include image overlays and metadata. Projects such as the Riyadh Base Map provide the first steps toward creating a complete 3D model that can be used for city planning and urban development management. Detailed drawings that are used for permit processing can also be used to help build detailed, usable, three-dimensional models of the city itself, providing an information infrastructure that can support a broad spectrum of applications.
Responding to emergencies requires the coordinated efforts of many people working together from different public sector departments and first responder agencies. In the event of a disaster, either natural or man-made, Multi-Agency Situational Awareness Systems (MASAS) rely on having as close to a common operating picture as possible so that all responders have the latest information to base their decisions on.
Galdos Systems used INdicio to build a registry and custom WRAMS client to enable the cataloging of HAZUS Multi-Hazard model outputs. Hazus is a nationally applicable standardized methodology that contains models for estimating potential losses from earthquakes, floods, and hurricanes Its mathematical simulations are often used to predict what will happen in the event of an emergency or natural disaster, and emergency management personnel use them to help with response planning. The WRAMS registry and custom client is used by the emergency management community for discovering, managing, and sharing emergency event simulations.
