FreeStyler is the open-standards solution for the web-based mapping and display of GML data. FreeStyler provides the full functionality of a vector WMS and includes a graphical Map Style Editor and thin client Map Viewer. These components provide all the needed functionality for designing interactive maps, editing and managing symbols, managing map styles, and creating Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) or image-based maps.

FreeStyler provides the following key features:
- Standards-based web mapping, compliant with the OGC Web Feature Services (WFS), Styled Layer Descriptor, GML, W3C XSLT and SVG.
- XSLT Style Sheets for standard SVG or image-based map generation.
- Plug-ins for popular graphics editors such as Adobe Illustrator, allowing easy and rapid creation of map symbols from a host of graphical data formats.
- Access to OGC/ebRIM compliant registries for managing map styles and symbol libraries.
- Fast generation of SVG or image-based maps from GML data from any OGC-compliant WFS, including Galdos' Cartalinea.
