INfuse™

Spatial Services Framework

INfuse™ is an application that provides a way for people to collaborate online by publishing information through a single service using a standard web browser or a mobile application. INfuse runs on a web registry, which is where data is stored and indexed for easy search and retrieval. The styling engine allows data to be visualized using different icons and colours, and displayed on a globe in layers which can be turned on and off by the user.

INfuse makes it easy for anyone using the system to:

  • View data in the registry as layers on a globe
  • Query data in the registry by Location, Area, Text, Type, or by custom property
  • Publish data from a standard web browser or
  • Share data in real time
  • Receive Notifications when data is published

In the world of the modern Internet, globes displayed in Earth browser interfaces are familiar to almost everyone. They are being used more and more frequently in news broadcasts to display information, illustrate locations, and visualize data in a way that everyone can understand.

As more and more cities move to provide online services to their citizens, expanding 311 telephone systems, one of the challenges is how to do this in a way that the most people will find easy to learn and use.

INfuse brings the familiar globe into its web collaboration environment, providing a known interface and toolset that people can use. Notifications are sent automatically when a request for information is published.

INfuse uses a private globe that can be customized with data that can be an aggregation from multiple municipalities and from multiple agencies. Data can be maintained from a single data source, reducing the potential for errors and discrepancies. Data in the globe is styled with colours and icons, making it easy to see. The data is published in layers, allowing users to turn on and off the layers so that they see only the data that they want on the globe.

Key Features of INfuse

  • Low learning curve for wide adoption
  • Easy customization and configuration
  • Easy management and monitoring capabilities
  • Data driven application
  • Share digital multimedia information instantly
  • Data aggregation service
  • Live data publishing and retrieval
  • Real-time updates

INfuse can be customized for specific purposes by adding appropriate metadata structures such as the event classification scheme defined in the Common Alerting Protocol. Data can be categorized using lists of event types, and published information can then be retrieved by searching for a specific type of event, and displayed on the globe using corresponding custom icons, colours, and styling.
