Vancouver, B.C July 22nd-26th, 2002. – Galdos Systems Inc, Ordnance Survey UK, and Natural Resources Canada are pleased to announce that the GML Dev Days 2002 Conference is quickly gaining momentum with an excellent lineup of presentations, keynote speakers, workshops and discussion panels. Both Xavier Lopez (Director of LBS for Oracle), Edward Parsons (Chief Technical Officer of Ordnance Survey), and Ron Lake (President of Galdos Systems) are confirmed keynote speakers.
The conference kicks off with two days of workshops where participants can learn about GML, XML, OGC Web features services, and SVG technologies at an introductory or applications level. There will also be private OGC meetings to discuss the next generation of GML. On Wednesday the conference officially opens with an address from Ronald Lake. Ron will reflect on the impact of GML and its implications for the future of Internet GIS and web-based geo-spatial services. Following the opening address, the public presentations and discussion panels will begin. In the afternoon, companies are invited to exhibit their GML products during the Technical Exhibit. Public presentations and discussion panels will continue till Friday afternoon. Furthermore, this year’s Networking Reception promises to be an extra special treat!
Special Note: The organizing committee has extended the paper submission date to June 20th, 2002. There are still tables available for the Technical Exhibit. Special Students rates are also available.
With interest expressed from all over the world, the conference promises to be an excellent opportunity to not only learn about Geography Markup Language, but to network with participants from leading GIS organizations.
